Thanks for your informed article. Maybe if I had read this article a few weeks back, I would not have an option on the subject. As luck would have it, I recently read The Soul of An Octopus by Sy Montgomery and have fallen in love with these creatures. The book was an eye-opener and I enjoyed reading every moment of it.
I wish your initiative in this issue sees the success it deserves.
I once read that great white sharks couldn't be kept in aquariums because they die outside their natural habitat. a part of me thinks that octopus farms can't happen because it seems so unnatural.
Yes that’s true! It’s not known exactly why but great whites travel incredibly long distances in nature and confining them puts them under severe stress. As it does octopus 😔
Not a space I normally set foot in but I snivelled watching ‘My Teacher the Octopus ‘ so this news really pisses me off.
Same
I'm speechless. The mere concept of octopus farming is unfathomable. Every documentary I watch about octopuses makes them even more astonishing to me.

Oh boy, what’s next, whales?! Our appetites are appalling.
Whatever we can get our hands on it seems!
There is only one way to stop it, Boycot
I hope they aren’t being farmed for food nor experimentation. Why can’t we just leave these dear creatures alone?!
Exactly that, unfortunately. They’re eaten around the world but have never been farmed on this scale before.
They are so smart, I can only hope they destroy the farm from within 💕🐙💙
This documentary had me bawling my eyes out: "My Octopus Teacher" https://www.netflix.com/title/81045007
