What an insightful look at shark healing properties! I also appreciate you pushing back on the "sharks are killers" narrative. There are many scientific and wildlife divers who have been in the water with bull sharks, tiger sharks, and great whites repeatedly without incident, it's all about context and understanding their behavior.
I recently wrote about how diving with sharks at the Georgia Aquarium and in Bimini, Bahamas (days after a paddleboarder was sadly killed by shark) got me over my irrational fear and made me appreciate these amazing creatures: https://allscience.substack.com/p/diving-with-sharks
Exactly right, we only ever hear about the incidents. Diving with them sounds incredible, I'll have a read! I also have an irrational fear of them so maybe this is the solution 😅
So fascinating, thank you for sharing!
So glad you enjoyed it 🙏
What amazing creatures. Thanks for keeping up the good work of helping us understand marine life that much more!
Amie are you familiar with photographer Brian Skerry's work?
Yes! One of the very best, I love his work 😊
Yes, he is one of the best. I have his Secrets of the Whales book. I love it.
